Range Clean Up Day Empty Range Clean Up Day

Post  Admin Wed Mar 11, 2009 4:26 pm

This Saturday (March 14th) we are planning on installing new railroad ties in the new pistol bays and cleaning up trash and debris around the old pistol bays. If you can help, it would be greatly appreciated. We will be starting at around 9am. Please bring work gloves and a few trash bags if you can.

Range Clean Up Day Empty Im in

I have really enjoyed being a member of the club and the privledge of such a good place to shoot handguns.

I have attended the annual move railroad ties and pick up trash event since becoming a member.

Its a very small price to pay to get to shoot at KRGC, and normally a good time.

Also we normally have a good turn out and it goes pretty quickly.

PS Last year I got out of doing any work by getting out of my car and immediatly being stung on the face by a ginormous black wasp and getting IV drugs at Bristol Medical center.

Having said that, I will bee there!

Uh, Brian, kind of extreme to get out of work, don't you think? Glad you survived, and I hope you have better luck this year! I would be right there with you guys, but I've had the (dreaded) tax appointment with the CPA in Bluefield for about 3 months on Saturday, and the wife won't let me out of it. Plus, that's where my Mom and Dad are, and I've got to see the people who created me! Let's see now...handling crossties or seeing a CPA...one is a pain in the back, the other is a pain in the you know where...If it weren't for the parents and the wife I'd be right there Wink .

Range Clean Up Day Empty Clean Up

Checked out the range today and there are 6-new picnic tables already assembled and ready to place at each of the new bays. The railroad ties are in each bay and ready to be placed with the fork lift. There are numerous broken pieces of wood and lots of small trash (shotgun hulls, boxes, cardboard) that will need picking up on the top bays. It shouldn’t take more than a few hours depending on how many people we get to help out on Saturday.

Hope to see you there to help make a better range for all of us.

Many thanks to Walter Edmiston (and his two kids), Brian Traynor, and Chase Hobson for helping out with the clean up day today. 5-hours in the rain! We got the vast majority of trash cleared out from the upper pistol bays, placed all of the railroad ties and picnic tables on the six lower pistol bays. It is really starting to look good up there. We will schedule another clean up day in the near future with a little more heads up time to hopefully get some more help. There is still more clean up needed on the upper ranges.

    Thanks again guys.

Hey I was happy to help. Dont forget Dr Riehl he was there too.

I get so much benefit from the club and the IDPA matches at KRGC I thought I should be there

The rain was no big deal.

If God lets me be healthy enough to shoot in the rain, I can work in the rain

By the way I think those were Walt's GRANDkids. Anyway they did their part too.

I think we had sixty or ninety cross ties moved in place today. I didnt want to count them.

I'm counting down how soon I get to take more motrin (being Ranger qualified, I am naturally a master class motrin eater). I get to have more at 11pm.

Don't forget to thank the man on the tractor either, he was awesome.

AND the weather guaranteed that there would be no bees or hornets today
