    Bullseye Range Empty Bullseye Range

Post  justanobody Sun Jul 18, 2010 5:26 pm

I see that on the 24th there will be a match on the IR50/50 range. Does that mean one cannot use the bullseye pistol range?
Just wondering before I load up and come out then find out I have to go back home.
This one is posted at the Club House section too.

    Thanks.

    Justanobody,

The bullseye range is legally open during the rimfire shoots, however it maybe hard to access due to parking etc. The 24th will be a busy day at Kettlefoot. ATA, Archery, IDPA and IR 5050 will all be having shoots.
There is a burm/area kept open for members during the IDPA matches, to allow non-participating members a place to shoot.
I'm curious, are you really wanting to know if you may use the bullseye range or are you wanting to annoy the rimfire shooters?
You must remember, all shooting at Kettlefoot is centered around competition. We always will defer to the scheduled event. This rule has been in effect now for 40 years.
I, myself (knowing there will be a major event transpiring on the 24th) would schedule my practice around that event. Common courtesy would prevent me from disturbing my fellow shooters.

It is not my intent to annoy anyone. I did not know about the open burm at the IDPA range for non participating shooters.
All that was needed to be said was .. The bullseye range is technically open but it would be better to make plans for some other time.
Sorry for asking the question. Due to commom courtesy I will not plan to attend the range during any match shoot unless it is on the trap and skeet fields since they are not combined with single projectile type ranges.
Sorry again for asking as my intent was not to be annoying, and or uncourteous.
Just a fellow shooter wanting to shoot as my range time is not as frequent as some others who are able to attend more frequently.

    Justanobody,
No need to apologize, I am sorry if I said something to offend. Over the last few years I have had to deal with a multitude of issues at the lower Rimfire and Bullseye area. I guess I'm just getting a little sensitive about the co-operation between these 2 disciplines.
Justanobody is a somebody and I will do my best to see that you get to use the facility as much as possible.

    Shoot Well,
    Wayne
